In addition to Quaid's academic achievements in business, he also gives back to the community with a portion of all sales being donated to the Environment Centre, Hawke's Bay.

Kia ora

My name is Quaid Crawford and I am the Head Boy at Hastings Boys High School. Last year in my Level 2 Business Studies class I joined the Young Enterprise Scheme with my business Hahana Soy Wax Candles. I had a very successful year last year selling my hand-poured candles online and at various markets around our region. At the end of the year, I was named runner-up Entrepreneur of the Year at the regional YES awards. I am excited to grow Hahana Candles this year as part of my Level 3 Business course for 2022. I come from a very supportive family who has instilled in me many values that have helped me grow my business. 

This year I also produced a MATARIKI candle to acknowledge that special time of the year that brings whānau together to remember the importance of whanaungatanga and all of the things we have achieved and accomplished together within the year.
